Lake Wylie Southeast

The shores of Lake Wylie lie in both North and South Carolina, just 20 miles south of Charlotte, N.C. Wide ranges of activities are available in nearby Charlotte including area sports of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats and college NCAA athletics. One can catch NASCAR action at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, AAA baseball or a Charlotte Checkers hockey game.

Recreation options include hiking in nearby Crowders Mountain State Park or South Mountains State Park or a day trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway in Western North Carolina. Those who enjoy a day on the lake have a wide selection of choices including Lake Wylie, Lake Norman and Mountain Island Lake. The Carowinds amusement park, Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, the uptown Charlotte Arena and Cricket Arena offer great entertainment options for residents.

When residents venture away from the lake’s serenity, the culture and amenities of nearby Charlotte are a short drive away. Navigating through Center City Charlotte is easy due in part to a grid pattern of city blocks. The Charlotte Area Transportation System (CATS) operates a citywide bus service; a Center City motorized trolley line, the Gold Rush and the Historic Charlotte Trolley. Charlotte is home to Charlotte Shout, a month-long celebration in September of art culture and community, incorporating more than 200 performances and events in more than 40 venues throughout the Charlotte region.

Whether it's the diverse cultural and recreational opportunities, the friendly people or beautiful lake community, Lake Wylie Southeast provides an easygoing lifestyle close to the conveniences of the city.
